Cheers to the Weekend, May Madness Edition

Can you feel it? The May madness? Every.single.momma. I've come into contact with this week has had the look. You know the one: "Is it summer yet?! How can there be yet another event added to our overflowing calendar?!"

Raising my hand high. We are in the same boat over here. On top of all of Bella's therapies (and three extra appointments for her this week alone), we are entering the overlap phase where baseball playoffs/All-Star practices/swim team practices will be coinciding; a dance recital will be happening; all three school age kiddos each have several extra events/celebrations on the horizon; two kiddos have well-checks; two Lus have birthdays next week; one Lu is going out of town this weekend to celebrate said birthday; another Lu is having a birthday bash next weekend; our LifeGroup is doubling up meetings to finish our current (awesome!) study; my hub has several work trips in the next two weeks; there are multiple adult social events coming up; ETC. ETC. ETC. ( <-- yes, I know that writing three ETCs is redundant but I feel like that adequately covers all the extra to-do's/events/ETCs not even mentioned in that list). It is MADNESS, I tell ya. May Madness.

But. The finish line is SO close. Right now, my goal is to make it to Memorial Day relatively unscathed. Doable? We'll see. ;) And by the way, I know this is ALL of us during the month May. Please don't ever think that I think that I am the busiest momma around. I know we're all busy. We are all trying to wear 10 different hats right now and juggle multiple events and celebrations. We can do this, mommas. We've got this. Let's power on through.

That being said, a quick summary of the things we're saying CHEERS to this week/end.

Good appointments. Like I mentioned above, I had three extra appointments for Bella this week. One was for an audiology check-in to ensure things are going well since she got her hearing aid three weeks ago (so far, so good!). One was to consult with a genetic counselor about the impending results from the recent genetic testing that was completed on her. And lastly, was our highly anticipating preschool eligibility/IEP meeting with the team within our school district. The purpose of the meeting was to review the results of the evaluations recently completed on Bella by the school therapists and psychologist (no surprises and all findings consistent with what we expected); to discuss eligibility criteria to see if she was deemed eligible to enter the developmental preschool program (no surprise there - she was! - but still a blessing!!); and to draft her IEP (Individualized Education Plan), which outlines the services she will receive and the accommodations that will be provided. We are THRILLED with the plan and also learned that...Bels will be attending FMES for preschool next year, the same school that Banks and Raleigh attend! Yahoo!!!!

Kindergarten fun. The first aforementioned extra school event took place yesterday, when Raleigh and her classmates put on the cutest performance celebrated the STEAM programs (Science; Technology; Engineering; Arts; Math). The finale song was What a Wonderful World  and I may or may not have cried. It was an extra special day for Rals, as my mom (her Bammy) drove up and completely surprised her at school for lunch. Day made for both! So special! <3

2018-19 dance pictures. Raleigh's first year of dance was two years ago, when she took a combo tap/ballet class. For whatever reason, we didn't have pictures taken of her in her costume that year. Last year, she wanted to switch over to gymnastics, so we did! But then this year, she wanted to switch back over to dance, so we did! And so finally, I have her first professional dance pictures to share, which were taken last weekend. <3 My girl takes the stage in two weeks for her recital, and I can't wait to watch her shine.

Prowl & Growl. Last night, my hub and I surprised Banks and took him to the Prowl & Growl. This is an awesome Clemson event that allowed us to meet and spend time with Dabo Swinney and Brad Brownell. We enjoyed a catered dinner while watching highlight videos of our Tigers and getting updates from the awesome coaches. We were even able to have our pictures taken with both, and we loved every second. Our blood runneth orange and it was a great night with our friends, fellow Tiger fans, and awesome coaches!

And that is it. My hub is gone for the weekend, off on a deep-sea fishing trip to celebrate his upcoming birthday with two of my brothers and three of his buddies. Meanwhile, I'll be holding down the fort with my s{quad}, which will include a teeball game tomorrow morning, a Derby party in the afternoon, and a couple of extra fun events on Sunday - more on that next week! Have a great weekend, friends. Hang in there!
