Our Adoption Timeline

12/16/15 - Begin serious discussions about adopting

3/8/16 - Submit our Medical Conditions Checklist (MCC) to potential adoption agency, CCAI

4/13/16 - Officially decide to adopt; begin CCAI application paperwork

4/29/16 - Agency applications approved by CCAI and home study agency, Nightlight Christian Adoptions

**Paper chase of all required dossier documents; required training; fingerprint appointments; notarization and authentification, etc, begins and continues for several months**

5/9, 5/18, & 6/3/16 - Home study visits

7/1/16 - Home study report finalized

7/28/16 - I800A received by USCIS

8/26/16 - I800A approved

10/14/16 - Dossier to China (DTC)

10/18/16 - Dossier logged-in in China (LID)

**The wait begins for a referral from CCAI but then...**

4/13/17 - Saw her picture on an advocacy site and KNEW; Completed preliminary application to new agency, Living Hope Adoption Agency (LHAA)

4/14/17 - Begin the process of switching adoption agencies

5/9/17 - Official referral (file) arrives from China

5/10/17 - Submit our Letter of Intent to adopt her (LOI)

**Complete paperwork required so that China will trasfer our dossier (from our old agency to our new one) in their system**

5/23/17 - Dossier transferred from CCAI to LHAA; Officially matched!!!

5/24/17 - Soft (electronic) Letter of Approval (LOA) received!!!

5/26/17 - Hard (paper) LOA received!!!

6/1/17 - I800 received by USCIS

6/12/17 - I800 approved!!!

6/19/17 - NVC letter received via email. DS-260 completed online

6/20/17 - Passports and documents submitted to Consulate in Chicago via courier for travel visas

6/22/17 - All Article 5 documents acquired and dropped off at the U.S. Consulate in China

6/29/17 - Passports returned with travel visas attached

7/10/17 - Article 5 pick-up and overnighted to CCCWA in Beijing

7/13/17 - Travel Approval!!!

7/28/17 - Depart for China

7/31/17 - Gotcha Day!!!!!

8/7/17 - Consulate appointment

8/10/17 - Arrive back home with our girl in our arms forever
