Hey y'all! It's hard to believe another week has passed, and that Christmas is less than two weeks away! I'm so glad you stopped in for our weekly coffee date--I so look forward to our chats. :)
Were we to meet for coffee on this sunny (yay!), chilly (yay!), beautiful (yay!) December morning (via link up), I would share the following...
...That my amazing grandmother, my Momma's Momma, is 90 YEARS OLD TODAY!!!!! Let me tell you a little something about my grandma, or G. Gram, as she is known to my sweet babies. You will NEVER meet another woman who is always so impeccably dressed, and perfectly accessorized, from head to toe. She has more make-up than Maybelline and more jewelry than Tiffany's. You will NEVER meet another woman who has a busier social calendar than my gram. Seriously. Everyone loves to be around her. You will NEVER meet another women who can drink you under the table like our G. Gram. You can set your watch by her 5 o'clock cocktails, and she is never one to turn down a Manhattan. You will NEVER meet a woman who has a stronger Christian faith than Pat H. She is a devout Catholic, and I have never known her to ever miss a Sunday service, no matter where she may be visiting on the weekends. You will NEVER meet a woman who loves shopping more than my grandma. Our annual Black Friday shopping trip is one of my favorite days of the year, and she never, ever misses it. You will NEVER meet a woman who is more loving or welcoming to significant others and spouses as they join our big, crazy family as my grandma. She is an amazing matriarch of our family and to her, the more the merrier. You will NEVER meet a woman who was a more devoted loving wife, caring for my grandpa through years of a difficult disease and never leaving his side. You will NEVER meet a woman who is more of a warrior, battling through two bouts of breast cancer only to kick its a** and come out ready to continue her full life on the other side. You will simply NEVER MEET another woman like my gram. Yes, she still lives independently, stands strong by her faith, rocks her cocktails, and socializes more than anyone I know. She is so very loved by her FOUR beautiful children, THIRTEEN grandchildren, and SIX grandchildren (with TWO more on the way), and we are blessed to have her in our lives. Happy Birthday, G. Gram!!
...That, on a much smaller and insignificant note, a certain someone also turns the big 3-3 on Monday. Woot! I love birthdays and am so glad that I'll be starting the day by watching, video-taping, and photographing Banks in his school Christmas program (yes, I'm that annoying, but oh-so-proud, Momma. Are you surprised?) and ending the day at our Bible study group's Christmas party, with 7 of my favorite couples. Who knows what the rest of the day will hold, but if I have my way, lots of family time. :)
...That we are headed to Aiken later today for our annual Christmas get-together with my hub's side of the family. Yahoo!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how much I look forward to this weekend of awesome family time, including plenty of laughs, plenty of good food, plenty of cocktails (virgin for this Momma, this year), plenty of board-game playing, plenty of story-tellling, plenty of cousin play time, and plenty of reminiscing. I love it all!
A short conversation from my end today, but I need to get packing for our trip! Before we went our separate ways, of course, I would want to hear about all things YOU, as always. And with that, I would give you a big ol' hug and promise to meet up again next week. Until then!
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!! I can't wait to see what blessings this next year holds for your sweet (growing) family! What an awesome gram you have too ;)
